Gaiam Tree of Life Yoga Mat Review
You can probably tell that I really like the different products that Gaiam has under their wing, and once again they’ve made a yoga mat that I really like to both look at and use. Their printed yoga mat line has produced some of the most beautiful mats that I’ve ever laid eyes on, combining beautiful form with function in a skillful display of aesthetics. I don’t want to harp on about them for too long, so let’s get on with the yoga mat review.
The Tree of Life is a very strong symbol in many cultures, and I do like the representation that Gaiam has put on this yoga mat. It has a textured non slip surface, and a size of 24W x 68L x 1/8Thick. That’s a 3mm mat, which is about the middle when it comes to thicknesses. Like other sticky mats, it does have a plasticky smell when you first get it, but that fades fairly quickly.
This is good for most types of yoga, but I wouldn’t recommend using it for Ashtanga – there have been some people that have it falling apart under very vigorous yoga practices. For Hatha and other slower paced types of Yoga it’s perfect, and when you also want your yoga mat to look pretty it’s hard to go wrong with Gaiam’s selection of yoga mats. This mat runs 27.99 with free shipping at Amazon.
